Award winning gospel star, Dumi Mkokstad is probably a happy man right now. This is after his latest single titled, Ziphozenkosi dominated the charts on The Othority South Africa. The song served as an ode to his lovely wife, Ziphozenkosi Mthembu – Nzimande.
The release of this song evoked mixed reactions from Dumi’s loyal gospel fans – who strongly deemed this move as unnecessary, because the song had strong elements of RNB.
Dumi Mkokstad took a brave step by revealing his more romantic side. Although some of his fans were confused at his brief transition of genres, others commended him for unlocking hidden potential in his artistry.
The Nzimandes got hitched last year and their wedding was nothing short of elegance and glam. However, this perfect union had a few detractors, especially from Dumi’s end. One of his alleged ex girlfriends stated that she was promised marriage by the singer.
In an interview on SABC 3’s Afternoon Express, the couple addressed the issue with class and dignity, as Dumi revealed that he actually doesn’t have a recollection of the lady.
