Fikile Mbaluala has been very open about his love for Beyoncé.
A few years ago, the Minister of Sport and Recreation, who is often referred to as Razzmattazz, even wanted to bring the global superstar to South Africa for the SA Sports Awards. That didn’t happen, of course.
During BET’s Genius Talks on Saturday, former eNCA anchor Nikiwe Bikitsha asked Mbalula about his facisination with Bey.
He replied: “She’s a good woman, she’s married to Jay Z and I’ve got my Beyoncé in my house. Now if you look at my wife… she doesn’t have fake hair, she’s a yellow bone, she’s pretty…”

He explained that it’s just a question of liking her music, adding: “Her dance moves and getting the popular culture going. In our generation, in our era Beyonce is a shining superstar globally, and even those who did not want me to bring her here, they secretly told me ‘bring her’.”
He said he appreciates the fact that Beyoncé is a dominant force in the the music culture. “She’s a queen.”
