Lady Zamar has taken the time to respond to DJ Maphorisa who roped her into his Twitter rant on Monday
The DJ accused the Monarch singer amoungst many others of not owning the masters to their music. Zamar's initial response was to stay away from the social media drama, but has since returned to the conversation with a very enlightening outlook.
The star first started out by setting the record straight to a fan who continued to imply that she did not own her music.
She then called on Phori to stop spreading misinformation amoungst the masses
and even challenged him to invite all the artists he mentioned in his rant; Prince Kaybee, Mafikizolo, Samthing Soweto and Kabza De Small to an event to talk about music ownership.
She tweeted; "Misinformation is wrong and @DjMaphorisa I challenge you to host a seminar/talk/brunch lunch or even a gathering to talk about the importance of owning masters in the music industry....trending is fun for clout and stuff but you brought up a serious thing".
She then praised Phori for his musical talent but urged him to use his industry acumen to educate and empower others.
She continued; "....you’ve impacted how people dance this past season but actually do something for up and coming musicians and artists... educate them about it, explain this truth you're telling and tell them how you did it.. Be the change".
In a series of further tweets, Zamar expressed her desire to not see other artists go through what she did as a newcomer.
She also defended her long-time collaborator and friend Prince Kaybee, who she described as a "beast of a producer and businessman".
Zamar also defended Phori and even nemesis Babes Wodumo's over "ignorant and cruel" trolls who criticised their English-speaking abilities.
Lady Zamar has just proven she's definitely the bigger person in this twar!
Another reason why we love her so much...
