I think it’s safe to say that not everyone is happy with the sentence handed to Oscar Pistorius this morning in the Pretoria High Court.
Pistorius, who was found guilty on a charge of Culpable Homicide for shooting and killing girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, was sentenced to a five year imprisonment for the incident. There was a sigh of relief for many South Africans who thought that Oscar deserved some jail-time for his crime. That was until it was made clear that Oscar would only have to serve 1/6 of his sentence before he could be released from prison and allowed to serve the rest of his sentence at home.
South Africans were quick to retaliate to this with the hashtag #ThingLongerThanOscarsSentence. Here are some of the things that are, according to twitter users, longer than the sentenced handed to Pistorius by Judge Masipa.
