Pearl Thusi
Pearl Thusi has had a rocky relationship with Mzansi, particularly on social media. But now it looks like Mzansi Black Twitter is ready to bury the hatchet, and we love to see it.

The Queen Sono star recently went on a date with one Twitter influencer, Michael Bucwa, who goes by Mr Smeg, a name he got after he posted a lot about his famous red Smeg kettle. The date went swimmingly well, and Mzansi was hooked as we settled in on that Saturday afternoon to watch this connection between the two most unlikely partners.

Of course, because of her charm as well as Mr Smeg's sweet and shy personality, the date was a hit, and left everyone rooting for them to end up together. But that may be some ways off, and frankly may also exert undue pressure, so we won't hold our breaths. The best thing, though, was the unintended consequence of bringing Black Twitter together in support of Pearl, who has long been one of its top targets for hate.

On the date, Mr Smeg defended the Twitter influencers who are usually at loggerheads with Pearl, and it looks like she went on to unblock the most notorious one, who goes by @ChrisExcel102. The two had a public argument some time back that resulted in the address blocking him, but according to Smeg, Chris issued an apology, which Pearl was gracious enough to accept.

Now the two have been chatting it up like old buddies. At the moment, Pearl has decided to throw a CBD Twitter party. Those of you who are on Twitter know the many different factions of Mzansi Twitter. She is in talks on her timeline, with other Twitter influencers, to decide on the logistics of such a party.

But it looks like Sandton Twitter members will be locked out of the party, as according to some tweeps, their boujee attitude is sure to ruin the event if they are invited.

It's amazing how much good has come out of Pearl's date with Mr Smeg. First, it showed the world that deep down, we are just the same, and that Pearl is pretty humble, accessible and approachable too. Second, it was a great opportunity where a lot of black owned brands were marketed, which was genius.
Mr Smeg has also since gotten new partnership opportunities, and a second date with Pearl on Valentine's day. And now the biggest one of all, they have brought about some much needed healing on Mzansi social media, which is arguably the best outcome of all.
