Podcast And Chill's Aya Breaks His Silence

He stands on MacG being a liar.

The Monday edition of Podcast and Chill with MacG, Sol Phenduka and Ghost Lady was one of the most explosive episodes to date of the controversial podcast. This time  it was not due to the guest or the show speaking on a ZAlebs. Instead, the controversy stemmed from the internal politics of the actual podcast.

For the past year, besides the main anchors of the show, we received glimpses of the crew who made the podcast possible. This included Maligant who was responsible for shooting the podcast and  Aya Prow who was the popular sound guy with his Barry White voice. 
 
Both crew members who were confirmed to have been fired during the latest episode. While MacG did not go into detail about what led to the firing of Maligant, he did share why he had to let go of Aya. However, this would be the point of contention.
 
Two episodes before, Podcast and Chill had delivered an episode late again on YouTube. A fact which MacG attributed to Aya delivering the sound late. Allegedly when MacG confronted Aya, he blamed this on a family emergency he had the night before. 
 
However, when MacG checked his WhatsApp statuses, he found a story where Aya allegedly stated, “Nothing better than chilling with friends and listening to my own album.” A status which MacG believed that Aya prioritised his album which is ironically titled Value of Time rather than his paying job with the podcast. 
 
While this was the final straw for MacG, he did elaborate that there were other instances too which resulted in his final decision. As such, from the manner in which he told the story, it was fair to assume that Aya was in the wrong, especially given the quality of the sound of late. But Aya has come out to rebuke the current “narrative,”

When the episode went viral, Aya Prow took to Twitter to share a suggestive post that seemed to address the allegations about his lacklustre performance of late on Podcast and Chill. Aya seemed to suggest that MacG, who has in the past  been accused of arrogance in light of the continued success of the podcast, was a liar. 
However, in light of the growing calls of the two needing to make amends. Moreover, suggestions lean on Aya needing to apologise to MacG in order to get his job back.

Aya seemed to want to make things clear. First, he seemed to corroborate the story about lying about his family emergency which resulted in his late delivery of the sound. 

But he did assert that he stands on the suggestion that MacG did not tell the entire truth when speaking about what actually resulted in his dismissal from Podcast and Chill. 
While we might never know what happened to result in his dismissal. It does seem that there might be truth to the suggestions of Musa Khawula allegedly co-opting Aya and Malagant to work on his upcoming “revamped” YouTube channel.
