Friends, families, and industry colleagues gathered at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre (ICC) in Durban for the late star’s final send-off.
As mourners were seated and a speaker was on stage paying tribute to the fallen hero, Zama made a dramatic grand entrance. She sat silently in the front row, and it was obvious they were at loggerheads with Babes Wodumo’s family.
Ever since Mampintsha passed on, there has been visible tension between the Maphumulo and Gumede families. There appears to be a feud between the families over Mampintsha’s body, with Zama reportedly having been furious after being excluded from the memorial and funeral arrangements.

Babes Wodumo was in high spirits on Thursday at Mampintsha’s memorial service. She stood up and danced to Mampintsha’s hit song Ngeke, while she was holding her baby.
Culture is oppressive and unreasonable. It’s women who are usually expected to follow the cultural standards and norms. Babes Wodumo should be allowed to celebrate her husband the way she wants.
