Speaking to the media ahead of his much-anticipated Comedy Central Roast, celebrity choreographer, radio host and overall media personality, Somizi Mhlongo, went for the jugular when asked for comment on one of his roasters, Ntsiki Mazwai.
The Comedy Central Roasts are a series of annual celebrity roast specials that have been airing on the American television channel Comedy Central (DSTV channel 122) since late 2003. During these 'roasts' eight to ten famous people are invited to roast (diss) each other before finally roasting the title subject of each show.
The subject of this year's South African roast is Somizi Mhlongo. He joins the likes of Kenny Kunene and Steve Hofmeyr who have had their own local roasts in the past.
Featuring on Somizi's panel are his Metro FM colleague, DJ Fresh as well as Nomzamo Mbatha, Fikile Mbalula, Gareth Cliff, Schalk Bezuidenhout, Skhumba , Kurt Darren and Ntsiki Mazwai - all of whom he has taken the time out to roast back in the media in the lead up to the show.
Hence the comments about Mazwai, which he made in an interview with The Citizen, stating:
"everything about the roast is not personal but with Ntsiki it's going to be personal because I want to roast her and circumcise her with everything that I have..."
He went on to add "she has a bad way of looking for attention and this ia an opportunity to speak my heart as well... Unfortunately with u'Ntsiki, I think she's [more] thick skinned than most of us, she's thick skinned because she hasn't taken a bath in a long time so her skin is thick of i'ntsila, they must call her Ntsila Mazwai."
