This is as Stoan ruffled more than a few feathers when he took to Twitter during this past National Shutdown spearheaded by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), and posted, “F*ck EFF.” Safe to say that in light of his comments, he got cooked by social media users.
However, instead of deleting the tweet, it seems that Stoan has stood ten toes deep in his sentiments as he has attempted to explain his stance.
Stoan tries to explain the “f*ck EFF” statement
As Stoan was getting cooked on social media for his lack of impactful music, his alleged corrupt affiliation with the ruling party and his failed relationship with Thandiswa Mazwai. It seems that as much as he stated that he was unbothered. It does seem that the backlash did get to him.
This is as he took to Twitter to share a video explaining why he tweeted what he tweeted. In the lengthy video, Stoan explains himself by sharing that:
“Ba nthoga, ba nthoga byanong [they are swearing at me, they are swearing at me] like I’m not supposed to have an opinion. A politically intolerant condition. Bo Sol Phenduka bari I’m getting cooked, cooked by who osa faga bitsa yami [who has done nothing for me]?... Others mentioning characters I’ve played, I mean god damn bro, try something harder!”
Stoan then explains that his sentiments were due to his belief that the EFF does not care about the populace, but instead that they are politicians that are politicking. He goes on to suggest that national executive members of the EFF have in the past endorsed abusers and corruption despite their public displays of concern for the general public.
However, the comments on his post did not hold back. This is as it was explained to Stoan again that his having an opinion was not the problem with his tweet. Instead, it insulted those believing in the EFF through his flippant tweet.
But it would seem that Stoan was adamant about being unbothered. This is as he took to Twitter to show himself “exercising” instead of paying “trolls” attention. However, even this video was a failure. This was as he was told that his form was wrong and should be focussing on deleting his tweets rather than being stubborn.
When nothing else seemed to work, Stoan then resorted to blackmailing social media. This is as he suggested that as soon as his death is announced, social media will be singing his condolences and would forget that they might have been the reason for his passing should it be through suicide… It seems Stoan was to stay right but still be forgiven by the general public at the same time.
