After an 8-year-old child from Vista Park, Bloemfontein got mauled by his neighbour's Pitbull, Mzansi has been escalating the call for these dangerous dogs to be banned. While many are on the opposing side, DJ and actress Thuli Phongolo is all for having these dogs locked up and away from people's homes.
The story of the 8 year old is just one of the many we have seen hogging headlines. Thuli is in support for having these vicious dogs be considered dangerous enough to not be owned as pets.
She said an ex of hers had three Pitbulls and they were extremely violent if they have not eaten. She then paid her tributes to the many young lives taken by the dogs.
"Pitbulls are a NO-NO, I’m so glad people are taking a stand against having them as pets. My ex had 3 & it was always terrifying being around them alone especially if they weren’t fed yet or fed on their regular time, they go wild! They are not safe, RIP to the young souls lost, " she wrote.
Some of her followers agreed with her while of course, others like Hungani Ndlovu are in support of Pitbulls saying the owners are the ones not properly training their dogs.
Hungani Ndlovu got dragged and told to stick to acting when he defended the dogs.
“Pit bulls aren’t inherently dangerous dogs. The owner is responsible for how he/she moulds the dog. Y’all wanna ban Pit Bulls but keep Rottweilers, Bull Terriers, German Shepherds, the list goes on! It’s not the dog! It’s the owner!!!”
“This pit bull situation is like blaming fast cars for people being involved in accidents instead of blaming the driver!!! You can’t drive 300km per hr then jiki jiki you’re in an accident and we must blame the car it’s the owner, not the dog! This pit bull situation is like blaming alcohol for the drunk drivers on the street instead of the drinker/driver. The problem is the owner, not the dog!”
Thuli Phongolo recently canceled her gigs after DJ Sumbody's death. "Unfortunately, I will not be able to honour my gigs tonight. I would like to pay respect to my dear friend @djsumbodysa & honour his life and the impact he had on my mine. The show doesn’t always have to go on, somethings are worth taking a pause for My apologies for the inconvenience."
Thuli took note of the nasty comments of people telling her to not be dramatic.
"Some people are insensitive. This is no room to be sassy and throw nasty comments for whatever benefit of clout or baseless jabs. Stop it! Choose to be anchored by grace for once!"
