The number of South African celebrities the media kills online is continuing to increase with the latest death reports being of the comedian Trevor Gumbi.

The same reports have been done with Uzalo actress Leleti Khumalo, Black Coffee, Emtee and many more celebrities and now the latest star to fall into such fake reporting is Friends Like These presenter Trevor Gumbi.

The comedian put an end to the claims by posting on his Instagram “LOL I ain’t dead guys ! Family and friends, ya’ll can stop calling…” captioned the Ses’Top La actor.

Trevor Gumbi came back hitting hard at the reports, which were received by his blind mother.

The worst part of this FAKE news story reporting that I died, is the fact that my mom, who is blind, had to hear from people calling her and she had to go through all those emotions before being able to get to a phone to call me. Fake media, sometimes you’ve gotta take a minute to think about how your “stories” affect the people around your target. Not cool ! Not cool at ALL !
