It was one of our favourite moments from the past weekend’s auditions.
During the Cape Town auditions, Idols judge, Unathi Msengana and contestant Zukisa acted out their own version of Ringo’s iconic video Sondela, with Somizi “directing” the shoot. At the end of the shoot when the “director” instructed Zukisa to kiss Unathi, the compassionate idols judge bolted like someone had yelled “bomb!” in the middle of a shopping mall.
Okay, so Zukisa is not exactly a Maps Maponyane. Women are not likely to bite their lower lips when he enters a room. But neither is he as scary as Bongani Maseko, but we’d probably run too if we suddenly had to kiss a stranger we just met.
