It has been one hot week in the spotlight for Zodwa Wabantu after her hit show turned into a publicity nightmare! On a recent episode, Zodwa could be seen spewing a lot of ignorant comments about the LGBT+  community.

Fans and foes alike immediately took to social media to share their opinion on the matter. The issue got so big that it was basically on every website and radio show all week. Speaking of radio, Phat Joe even got suspeneded from his Radio2000 after echoing her sentiments live on the air.

After causing such a huge discussion around media and LGBTQ+ representation, it seems that the cries have gotten through to Zodwa. The star took the time to apologise for her irresponsible comments on her show this past Saturday.

Turns out that it wasn't the petitions, though. It was Zodwa's friends who directly reached out to educate her who made the biggest impact.

Moja Love, the channel that airs Zodwa's show, also issued a statement apologising to the viewers for having let that episode air to begin with. Many believe that this could have all been avoided if that comment was edited out but the Producers are responsible for keeping it in there. The channel took responsibility and admitted to there being an oversight on its part.

Well let's hope everyone took the opportunity to educate themselves on LGBTQ+ issues in the country and may we not see such on television again anytime soon!
