Legendary Kwaito musician and TV host Bonginkosi Dlamini, popularly known as Zola 7, has been trending lately following a video that showed him to be frail and ill. His health became a major concern after the video, which prompted many people to donate money into his account in order to help him get back to normal.

In spite of this, Zola 7 appears to be making a comeback in the limelight after his brainchild, the highly anticipated Strictly Kwaito Legends Festival, made its triumphant return to the Bears Palace in Mpumalanga this past Saturday. Partygoers flocked to the venue to show Zola7 love.

The musician told TshisaLIVE that he was overwhelmed by the love he  received in Mpumalanga, and thanked everyone who brought him out of his house because he has been ill for too long.

He also revealed that he performed Mandoza's smash hit Nkalakatha, to remind people of who they are and where they come from.

"I'm a sensitive guy. When something profound happens I can't help but get a teardrop. I miss my friends though, because they are gone. They are lying at Heroes Acre Cemetery. I miss Jabba, I miss Pro Kid, Mandoza, Dash and Lebo ... I had to get on stage and do Mandoza's Nkalakathajust to remind people who we are and where we come from."
"Thank you for dragging me out of my house to come here, because I've been in the house for too long, I've been sick for too long," he told TshisaLIVE. There have also been reports that the event is being dedicated to Zola7, with the proceeds also set to donated to him. The legend said he is making sure that his children's futures are secure.

"I am sitting comfortably on about 2,000 songs that have not been released that will become part of the trust fund for the children. We have a sh*t load of debts that need to be taken care of should something happen to me, because I have epilepsy.

"My wife and I were doing legal paperwork [last week] so that our kids are safe. Nowadays it's easier, because, unlike being signed to a record label, you can sign yourself and protect your intellectual property," he said.

He rubbished speculation that he has seven children saying he knows of 2 of the 7, "I only have two boys. OK, because I'm a kwaito artist I'm going to say, 'The ones I know of'," he said.

The legendary artist also recently released an urgent warning his fans that he had lost his sim card.

It's beautiful to see the entire country joining hands to change Zola's life for the better. Dlamini and his team recently released a statement on the artist's Instagram account where they rubbished rumors that he received R1million from MamKhzie.

Part of the statement read, “We request that the Media kindly report only truth that is verified to avoid spreading false information. Zola has not received any millions / million from any funder as widely alleged / spread,” the statement read.”

Mzansi is however divided after a picture of him seemingly drinking at the Strictly Kwaito Legends Festival has gone viral. Tweeps weighed in on the picture.
