Zola: I lost my friends but not my fans

Zola is proof that you should never write people off.

The musician and actor, who stole viewers’ hearts back in the day on Zola 7, made his big TV comeback on Tuesday evening. His debut on Mzansi Magic reality show, Utatakho, was a sucess.

Fans took to Twitter to express their excitement.

The star has had his fair share of negative publicity over the years. However, he doesn’t seem too bothered as he focuses on those who show him love.

Speaking on V-Entertainment about his ‘haters’, he said: “The same people who attacked me when I was younger, and the same people who maintain whatever is happening to Zola, in the most vile vindictive way, and the same people who are now disappointed that I’m doing this, it’s the same blood line. Very small minority, an incredibly small…”

He said the rest of the population, which, according to him, is sitting at “a good 85%” never left him. “I’ve never felt alone. I lost my friends but not my fans. Maybe at my age I’m like an all-rounder. Everybody knows me on all different levels of life people know me in this country and I enjoy that..”
