The iconic South African design and luxury fashion house, David Tlale launched, yet again another one of a kind collaboration collection with international cosmetics and beauty brand, Avon South Africa. This is the third collaboration between the two major brands and it dares you to tap into your power, your style, and your pulse.
The fashion showcase and launch of the collaboration between the House of David Tlale and Avon South Africa took place on Thursday evening at the Rand Club in Marshalltown, Johannesburg, and in true David Tlale nature, it was nothing short of elegance, glamour, and fabulosity under the “historic glam” theme.
The David Tlale x Avon branding lit up the Rand Club building on Thursday night as Tlale explored the DNA of camouflage and the origins of writing in his latest collection. Through calligraphy, he constructed a unique monogram that explores the concept of exploring both time and space.

David Tlale spoke to Sunday World and mentioned his inspiration behind the current collaboration collection with Avon South Africa being their signature monogram they the brand developed and is ready to introduce to the public.
“We looked at how we can make David Tlale accessible and can be an affordable luxury to the everyday woman in South Africa, hence the collaboration with Avon.” Said the designer.
He added, “The colours were inspired by the journey that we have taken over the past two years of the pandemic. We decided to go bright with colour because I know the psychology of color, and when you see brightness, it brings joy.
“So that is why we went with orange, a bright green, and a bit of tan and cream white to bring back hope and excitement.”
The collection is made up of staple accessories for every lady and gentleman who deems herself stylish, powerful, and daring. It consists of a beautiful handbag, purse, watch, and sunglasses – everything that completes a fashionista’s wardrobe.
The handbag is a colour-blocked handbag featuring David Tlale’s exclusive monogram print in orange and beige, with green trim. Fabric wipes clean with a damp cloth. The sling bag which converts to a purse merges functionality and elevated style with 8 card slots, 2 larger pockets, and a middle zip coin compartment. While their new timepieces for both men and women elevate with a David Tlale emblem and diamante detail. But it would not be a David Tlale collection without sunglasses, right? They are functional yet trendy, have wide convex lenses, and offer a standard European UV400 protection.

He was also excited to preview his autumn/winter collection during Paris Fashion Week. The collection will be presented locally in Johannesburg on Monday. To highlight his men's wear, he also collaborated with some of the contestants from Big Brother Mzansi.
“It’s a new and beautiful journey that has just unfolded, and I believe it will bring forth the holistic lifestyle of the House of David Tlale, so I am really excited to show people our capabilities,” the designer said in closing.
