A couple of years ago, Gugu Gumede was thrust into the spotlight when she bagged the role of Mamlambo on Uzalo and since then, her life has changed drastically.
The actress went from not being known to being super famous as a result of being on the most-watched show in South Africa.
A couple of months ago, Gugu stunned her fans when she announced that she was pregnant with her first baby. The actress who keeps her private life out of the spotlight announced the news after fans thought that she would be leaving the show that made her star.
Taking to Instagram, Gugu penned a heartfelt note that was honoring her late mother while announcing her pregnancy, "I have often been asked where I got the strength to continue after my mother’s passing - I got it from my unborn child. At her funeral, as I stood at the podium and spoke on my queen’s behalf, I was not alone. The strongest heart was beating inside of me, reviving me. I am alive today because of it," she wrote in part.
She then went on to continue, "My baby, you are your grandmother’s answered prayer. She was so excited to meet you; even though you did not get to meet in the physical realm, I know she is currently holding you in the spiritual. My darling, every move and every kick of yours within me is a testament of both God and my mother’s continued love for me. You have changed me in ways that are inexplicable. We cannot wait to meet you," she concluded.
Shortly after debuting her baby bump, Gugu announced that she had given birth to a baby girl. Taking to Instagram, Gugu shared the great news, at the time, she wrote, "Exactly a month ago, my life became the greatest testimony. My daughter, may the heavens pave a way for your greatness, and may they always go to war on your behalf. You are so dearly loved!...Come to me correct y’all, I’m someone’s mother."
It seems like Gugu is now ready to reveal her bundle of joy to the world. Taking to her Instagram page, the actress shared the first snaps of her baby girl. Take a look at the cute post below:
Gugu is not the only star that recently gave birth. A couple of weeks ago, Ayanda Thabethe shared that she too had given birth to her first child. Taking to Instagram, she simply wrote, "Finally, my forever has come."
The post was accompanied by a video detailing her pregnancy and giving birth journey.
