Up Close And Personal With Uzalo Actor Wiseman Mncube

ZAlebs caught up with the multi-talented TV star

Wiseman Mncube is undoubtedly at the peak of his career. The multi-talented thespian is one of the country’s most sought after Tv actors, who has tirelessly worked hard to become a household name in the television industry.

Wiseman was thrust into the spotlight a few years after his illustrious theatre career took off. He then ventured into Television acting and has since risen to stardom.
 
The all-around entertainer, who also dabbles in playwright and directing, plays the hit role of Sibonelo on SABC 1’s popular sudser Uzalo. Wiseman does not shy away from mentioning that his rise to fame did not come easy. There was a time in his life when all was bleak and he decided to go to the city of gold for fame and fortune.

Now he has conquered our TV screens. From directing big plays, to winning awards, Wiseman is definitely a force to be reckoned with and he still manages to remain down to earth with such talents and accolades. This is part of the reason he stays relevant and on top of his game in the industry.

ZAlebs caught up with the star and found out there is more to him than meets the eye. 
 
The thespian was born in Ulundi and grew up in Newlands West, Durban.

He comes from a family of 4 siblings who were brought up by his two amazing parents who instilled great values of becoming great individuals who ooze self-respect and integrity .

His family boasts of creatives who are dominating the entertainment industry.

His younger brother, Omega Mncube, is a household name on our Tv screens and plays the character of Phelelani on Uzalo. Wiseman was inspired by his older brother, Ntando Mncube, to become an actor.  Ntando, who plays Bhikile (a man of war and strategy on Ifalakhe) paved the way for the younger Mncube brothers in the world of showbiz.

Wiseman graduated with a National Diploma in Drama from the Durban University of Technology in 2011.

He has had the pleasure of working with the heavyweights of theatre productions in Durban, including Joseph Shabalala - founder and leader of the world renowned Ladysmith Black Mambazo(LBM).

His play The Weeping Candle won the Best Production and Best Script Awards at Khaya Multi-Art Centre in KwaMashu during the isiGcawu Festival in November 2012.

He also gained more recognition for his works by winning three NAF (National Arts Festival) awards in Grahamstown in 2014. In 2015, the actor was appointed as one of the directors of the prestigious Musho Festival which showcases up-and-coming theatre stars annually in Durban.
 
Wiseman's first acting role was on Gold diggers.

He then landed major roles in the South African television industry, including Sokhulu and partners, Ukhakhayi , Generations: The Legacy,  and Ingozi -  to
name a few. The multi-talented actor won the hearts of many with his cold-hearted Jama role on eHostela.

Recently, he got a nod for the prestigious Mzansi Viewers Choice Awards 2020

The much-anticipated awards ceremony will be held at the Ticket Dome in March. The awards, which are voted for by the public, aim to honor the most impressive entertainers across 11 diverse entertainment categories and celebrate homegrown talent.

The Uzalo actor firmly has faith in hard work and prayer - he says diligence pays off.

Judging from his start, his future is set to be a successful one. Wiseman is one of the few young actors with extraordinary acting skills. Fans are always glued to their television screens due to his captivating and intriguing acting prowess. 

Asked about his overall experience about the industry he said.

"It's been a roller-coaster ride, it has been years of highs and lows but I have accomplished almost everything I have always dreamt of"

The star has been described as a hearhtob by many; due to his good looks; but unfortunately or fortunately for him, he is booed up.

"I have a person in my life unfortunately, I'm off the market"

Wiseman has a beautiful daughter whom he unequivocally loves. He's always fulfilling his daddy diaries and it's beautiful to watch.
