Isidingo actors shared emotional social media tributes after filming their final scenes for the soapie this week.

The end is never easy to deal with, even if you can see it coming for a long time. We reached the end of the road with Isidingo this week when many of our favourite cast members from the SABC 3 soapie reported in to work for the last time.

Thankfully, fans of Isidingo can still watch the show on television for another two months. The show is set to end in March 2020, however, as many of their scenes are filmed in advance, this week marked the final day on set for many of Mzansi's biggest stars.

Last year the SABC announced its decision to cancel Isidingo. Reports suggested that the decision was made as the result of the show's poor ratings (a common problem for SABC 3's content at this moment in time).

Things got messy when cast members revealed that they weren't even informed of the decision to cancel the show; instead they were each left to learn of the latest developments via social media. Despite this, the talented actors have shown great professionalism by showing up to work until their final day.

Make sure you have a tissue nearby because things got really emotional in each of their dedications. Take a look:

Actress Schelaine Bennet said on Instagram, "Proof that God’s timing is PERFECT!
I auditioned for many different roles on Isidingo over the years & never won... Then THIS!!! What a Time to be Alive! What a Blessing! What a Team! What a Special part of South African tv History... Our Final scene together. To every single soul that makes this show come to Life- I salute You"

Meanwhile, Dumisani Mbebe wrote on Twitter "Today, I'm stepping in the studios of Isidingo for one last time. The end to the second most long-standing local soap operas has come. Whatever the broadcaster's reasons to pull the plug! Life goes on. Job hunting begins again "

Meanwhile a number of the show's cast members shared pictures of themselves getting into character for the last time on this show. Motlatsi Mafatshe also happened to be marking 10 years on Isidingo:
