Jacob Zuma’s Twitter account has given us the opportunity to see sides of the man we don’t usually get to see - including his more sporty, athletic side, which has clearly been hidden from public for all these years.
The former President of South Africa is currently living his best life whenever he can (well, in between having to cough up legal fees and facing corruption charges) and his new social media account is a window into what that entails. Since joining the platform on 14 December (six days ago at the time of writing) JZ has gained close to 150,000 Twitter followers.
And he’s given them the content to stick around too. This week, uBaba ka Duduzane showed off his soccer skills as he faced off against local children. Zuma shared the video and joked that Stuart Baxter should consider recruiting him for Bafana Bafana’s next games:
If you’ve watched Bafana Bafana in recent months, you’ll probably think that Zuma has a chance of at least making the bench in their 2019 schedule.
When Zuma is not on the pitch, he’s reminding us that he’s still a charismatic conductor too:
Perhaps sports and music were Zuma’s true callings all along. What do you think, Mzansi?
