Yesterdar actor and radio personality Khaya Dladla officially turned 31. “It’s my big day…Oh yeah and it’s my birthday,” he posted.

Khaya whose popularly known for his Uzalo character GC took to Instagram yesterday to share pictures of his stunning 31st birthday celebration.

His long-term boyfriend Mercutio Buthelezi also posted Khaya’s picture with a sweet caption: “Is the date today, either way, I can’t wait to walk down.”

The pair shared their engagement news last year. Khaya posted a video of his surprise proposal which took place at the Ocean Reef Hotel in Durban. He also shared a video of his red roses captioned: “It’s official we are definitely not the ‘Love Lives Here’ anymore…phela manje love resides in us. We are now ‘Love Natural Habitat’ thank you my Shenge @mercutio-buthelezi.
Fans and celebrity friends of Khaya took over the comment section to wish him a happy birthday.
Actor and Black Brain Pictures boss Mandla N wrote: “Happy Birthday with you have many more, cant wait to create history with you. Hola.”

Khaya made his TV return earlier this year since his exit from SABC1’s Uzalo. He bagged a role on Mzansi Magic’s popular drama series ‘Ehostela’ joining the second season of the series. ‘Ehostela’is centered around township violence and the deadly taxi industry. He plays the character of Nxebale Ndoda on the show.

Introducing his character to his fans, he posted a picture of Nxebale Ndoda with a caption: "Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to Nxebalendoda, who will join you tonight at 8 pm Ehostela Season 2... Your television will never be the same again.”

Khaya has also been a victim of the current world pandemic. He tested positive for coronavirus last year in July. Speaking about his recovery process then, he wrote: “I'm living proof of beating Covid-19. 14 days of isolation have been a journey of introspection, new habits, and (the) return of some old ones. This journey has been an emotional and psychological battle. The day people understand the power of the mind, the better. As soon as your mind tells your lungs you can't breathe … you will not breathe. As soon as your mind tells your body you are dying … You will die.”

Khaya is currently a host of a breakfast show ‘The Uprising’ on Gagasi FM every weekday from 6 am-9 am.
