Luyanda Zwane’s rapid rise may look sudden from the outside, but the actor says she has been working toward this moment for years.
“Everything happening in my career now has been part of the plan,” she says. Zwane has long relied on deliberate visualisation to guide her ambitions, keeping a vision board in her bedroom.
Quick facts
- Zwane recently appeared in Netflix’s The Polygamist.
- She plays Amahle Maseko in season two of Spinners.
- Her long-term targets included Netflix, Disney and CANAL+.
- She trains with strength workouts and Pilates as she prepares for future action work.
Following the international attention around The Polygamist, Zwane is returning to screens as Amahle Maseko in the eagerly awaited second season of Spinners.
She has also documented moments from her journey in Instagram posts shared through @luyanda__zwane.
As her profile grows, Zwane says staying on top of a packed diary requires more than individual discipline. She credits a strong team with helping organise both her work and personal life.
With several productions underway, she believes performers cannot deliver their best on set without proper downtime and firm boundaries away from the cameras.
“You need to arrange your life in a way that keeps you balanced and well-rounded,” she says. “I have a routine: every morning I’m either at the gym or doing Pilates, I go to church on Sundays, and I set aside time for my loved ones as well as my work. You need to be able to do that.”
Zwane sees protecting her mental and physical health as vital in an industry driven by constant pressure.
“If you are always thinking about deadlines, dialogue and scenes, you will become anxious,” she says. “You cannot expect to be outstanding on set if you are not taking care of yourself behind the scenes, when nobody is looking.”
Another Instagram post from @luyanda__zwane has offered followers a further glimpse into her life during this busy period.
For years, Zwane pictured herself working on major international services and networks including Netflix, Disney and CANAL+. Seeing those aspirations reflected in her career now feels like a dream she had already been building privately.
“I always wanted to share my gift and use it across the world, in every part of it,” she says. “When the opportunity arrived, it was something I had already been preparing and putting into action behind the scenes.”
She says her achievements are rooted in faith and a commitment to staying spiritually aligned.
“I plan a lot, pray a lot, make vision boards and write down my visions,” Zwane says. “In my mind, I have already accomplished everything happening in my life six months before it arrives.”
Her current career momentum has also reinforced the importance of releasing the things she cannot control. “I’ve learned to let go and let God,” she says. “What is meant for you will happen at its appointed time. You cannot change the timing or alignment of those things. When it is supposed to happen, it will happen in that moment.”
Her outlook for this chapter is to trust the process. “Everything happens for a reason,” she says. “Do not try to force a reason for certain things or dig until you create your own truth. Let go and let God.”
Looking forward, Zwane’s commitment to fitness is not simply part of her personal routine. She is training for the next phase of her screen career and hopes to be ready for the action parts she wants to pursue.
“I take my health and my body shape very seriously,” she says, citing her consistent strength-training sessions and Pilates practice.
“I get up and stay disciplined because, at some point, I want to do action movies and series,” Zwane says. “I am trying to do my own stunts, even though it is challenging and unfamiliar, because I want to perform them myself.”
With faith, structure and a focus on action-driven opportunities, Zwane is not merely enjoying her success — she is deliberately shaping what comes next.
