More than a thousand pupils, students and educators from Access Bank Fifth Chukker School took the spotlight during the 2026 Access Bank/UNICEF Charity Shield Polo Tournament over the weekend at Fifth Chukker Polo and Country Club in Kaduna.

As part of the event, the children showcased cultural dances, drama performances and musical sets, while also presenting drawings and paintings carrying strong messages such as “Stop Child Abuse” and “We Are the Stars of the Future.”

Access Bank chairperson Mrs. Ifeyinwa Osime, who headed the bank’s delegation, said the charity initiative has supported the building of 120 classroom blocks in Kaduna, adding that 60 of them were completed in the latest phase—an expansion she said has brought a major improvement to learning conditions for thousands of children in communities benefiting from the programme.

Osime added that the Access Bank and Fifth Chukker collaboration has helped increase school enrolment, boosted academic outcomes, and provided nearby communities with boreholes, vocational training tools and other empowerment activities.

“We remain committed to promoting sustainable development through quality education and initiatives that positively impact lives and communities,” Osime said.

Access Bank has been a sponsor of the Charity Shield Polo Tournament since 2008. The bank said the event supports UNICEF’s educational work aimed at communities that have limited access to learning resources.
