Ntando Rambani, a media figure and entrepreneur behind children’s beauty brand Sbahle Siyakhula, is building out the concept of her salon with a new initiative designed to spotlight children’s literature and spark a stronger reading culture for young fans.
A reading corner opens for children’s book authors
Rambani, who serves as CEO of Sbahle Siyakhula, shared the update on Instagram, revealing that the salon’s dedicated reading space—Sbahle Siyafunda—is now welcoming both up-and-coming and established children’s book writers.
Through the initiative, authors can set up displays and sell copies directly to families who visit the salon, while also encouraging kids to explore fresh stories.
Why Rambani launched Sbahle Siyafunda
In a video posted online, Rambani said the program is rooted in the salon’s broader mission: cultivating creativity and nurturing a genuine love of reading among children.
She introduced herself to viewers, saying, “I’m Ntando Rambani, the CEO of Sbahle Siyakhula. I’ve got some exciting news for you and your young ones.”
Rambani went on to explain that Sbahle Siyafunda, which she described as roughly translating to “We are beautiful and we are learning,” is a special area inside the business built to help children read, learn, and express their creative side.
“This section in the store is where we get our kids to read, learn and be their creative selves as we are very big on broadening and growing their agility and ability,” she said.
How authors can get involved
After outlining the purpose of the space, Rambani invited children’s book authors to participate, encouraging them to bring their titles for families to browse and purchase.

Rambani closed with a playful prompt to families and writers alike, writing, “Our kids are ready for new stories. Are you in?” She also noted that monthly availability is limited.
Hair care meets literacy—plus a call for collaboration
The entrepreneur positioned the initiative as more than a typical salon experience, describing it as a blend of hair care with literacy and creative learning. The goal, she said, is to help children uncover new stories while also backing local authors and encouraging a lifelong habit of reading.
She finished her announcement with a collaborative message: “Let’s get our kids excited about reading, together!”
