Rami Chuene Celebrates SABC Promise to Cover Repeat Fees for Giyani Role

Rami Chuene has delivered encouraging news to the acting community, confirming that the SABC has agreed to cover her repeat fees for her role in the drama series Giyani: Land of Blood.

On Monday, 19 May 2026, the seasoned actress posted the update on social media, sharing that she had received formal correspondence from the public broadcaster about payment related to reruns of the show.

In her message, Rami said the required forms had already been completed and sent in, and that she is currently waiting for the payment to be processed.

She wrote: “On this day, 19 May 2026 at 4pm, I, Rami Chuene, would like to state on record that I have received communication from the SABC telling me they will be paying me repeat fees for my work on Giyani: Land Of Blood.”

Rami further explained that she chose to make the information public so fellow performers would be aware that repeat fees are a legitimate entitlement for actors when their shows are broadcast again.

“Why am I telling you? So you know, my dear thespians, that this is what is truly due to us.”

The actress also expressed gratitude to the SABC for the decision and said she hopes other artists whose productions are repeated on television are receiving similar support.

“I appreciate this from the SABC and hope that all actors that have their shows repeated on TV are also getting their repeat fees. Thank you SABC.”
