24 September is heritage day in Mzansi and the streets always look absolutely bright, colourful and beautiful with South Africans embracing their heritage and roots each her.
With so much diversity in our country and such a rich heritage, it is heartwarming and fills us with pride when we are reminded of the beauty of Africa.
Our Zalebs gave us stunning heritage day looks that we cannot overlook. Here are some of our favourites:
1. Penny Lebyane
Penny Lebyane really rocked this look. She gave us a tradition meets modern ensemble and we love it! She is a beautiful Mutsonga woman.
2. Dineo Langa
Dineo Moeketsi- Langa, Mrs L, looks gorgeous in this IsiZulu traditional attire during her wedding with husband, Solo. This moment is part of the 'Umabo' process in IsiZulu wedding tradition - where the bride gifts her new family with blankets etc. and also demonstrates just how well she will take care of her husband. It may have not been a heritage day look, but we love it... so why not?
3. Naakmusiq and Oros Mampofu
Actors Naakmusiq and Oros showed off their traditional attires, displaying the diversity and traditional wear for men kwaXhosa.
4. Thando Thabethe
Thando Thabethe's heritage day look is a sight for sore eyes. She looks breathtaking; a queen who only just needs a crown on her head and her king by her side. She also looks like she was ready to do a dance. lol
5. Thando Duma
Aa mufumakadzi. We love this Tshivenda look by Ntando Duma's twin who is also a DJ, Thando Duma. It is quite modern and she is, indeed, a Zulu gurl with some Venda power
6. Phindile and Armando Ngandu
Actress Phindile Gwala aka Mrs Ngandu and her hubby Armando took us to KZN with this one. Phindile looks like a beautiful Zulu makoti (bride) in her isidwaba (skirt) and inscholo (hat) and her hubby in an ibheshu. The way he looks at her is beautiful.
