30 March is National Cleavage Day… are your breasts ready?
Not many women are walking around with Scarlett Johansen’s perfectly shaped breasts so when National Cleavage Day pops around (excuse the pun) some describe it as a day of empowerment for women, others a day to show off your assets and for men to be somewhat distracted. For the larger breasted women it is not easy keeping their womanly parts off the ground but thanks to Tamsin Laight, owner of Double Delights Bra Boutique, there is hope.
“I think women should definitely celebrate their cleavage; it’s part of what makes us feminine and who we are!” says Tamsin.
Tamsin started fitting bras for the larger busted women after struggling to find bras to fit her 34G busts at the time.
“After meeting Sandra Thomas from Satin Candy, she changed my life and I began as an agent for her on the South Coast in KwaZulu-Natal.”
Originally started in South Africa and now celebrated in the United Kingdom and other countries around the world, National Cleavage Day allows women to show off their cleavage in the name of a good cause – to promote breast cancer awareness. Tamsin encourages women to embrace their bodies and love the breasts they have.
After numerous enquiries from ladies needing mastectomy and breastfeeding bras she decided to branch out on her own, still stocking Satin Candy in A-M underwire bras of course.
“I would have to say the biggest challenges facing big busted ladies is support and the lack of sexy, well-fitting, comfortable bras, however as time goes by I find this is not necessarily restricted to just busty women, but petite ladies also have problems finding bra’s that fit and don’t dig into their ribs and sides. The most important thing is to be correctly measured and fitted for your correct size, statistics say that up to 80% or more women are wearing the incorrect bra size.”
