M-Net has announced that Mzansi Magic will be producing a South African edition of Big Brother; the show will be called Big Brother Mzansi.
M-Net’s director of Local Interest Channels Yolisa Phahle says that Mzansi Magic is just taking the next logical step by hosting Big Brother.
“The multiple requests over the years for another local version of this supernova television show, together with the overwhelming viewer response to Big Brother Africa signalled that it will be a sure-fire hit in our market.”
She also mentioned that the addition of Big Brother to Mzansi Magic’s range of entertainment production perfectly aligns with the channels vision in producing gripping content for its audience.
Endemol SA managing director, Sivan Pillay added to Phahle’s sentiments:
“The brand just keeps on growing and each season has had its own charm. We value our longstanding relationship with M-Net as a company and look forward to be collaborating with another channel in its family of brands.”
Pillay says that this Big Brother will be filled with ‘’twists and turns’’ just like the other Pan-African ones.
Big Brother Mzansi is said to be the 11th season produced by M-Net and Endemol SA. We hope this season will be as interesting as the previous Big Brother SA seasons that have played in the past, its been a while since we’ve seen how ordinary South Africans live. Let the game begin!
