Actress and TV presenter Boitumelo Thulo says she is disturbed by Stella Buthelezi’s accusations that she flirted with her tycoon husband Bruce, a man many years her senior.
Stella has become tabloid fodder since she recently threw champagne in the face of ‘Tsotsi’ actress Terry Pheto, allegedly for twerking with her millionaire businessman husband Bruce Buthelezi at a high-profile party.
Speaking to the media after the incident, Stella said many female celebrities adore and hanker after her husband, and soon after pinpointed Rockville actress Boity Thulo as one of them.
Recent reports in the Sunday Sun claimed that 23-year-old Boity was fired from her job as presenter of ‘Skyroom Live’, for which the much-coveted Bruce is producer, because she allegedly sent him flirty messages.
The report further claims that Boity also missed out on an opportunity to become the face of an English cosmetics line called Becca, after it was reportedly discovered that she was fired from Iman cosmetics because of indecent dealings with a married man. Becca is, incidentally, licensed to Stella.
Boity has, however, opened up about these accusations by rubbishing claims that she flirted with Bruce and saying she’s offended by Stella’s insinuations.
“I’m really upset about this entire thing. Stella is the same age as my mother, and as an African child I’m obliged to afford the couple the same level of respect, whether we’re related or not,” she said.
“I had what I believed to be a strictly professional relationship with Bruce and the SkyRoom Live team until I received an irate and irrational call from Stella.
“It was unfortunate and rather uncomfortable as I considered them not only a loving couple, but a caring support system.”
She diplomatically hinted that there might be trouble in the affluent paradise of Stella, with whom she has reportedly not spoken since.
“I find these mischievous insinuations totally unthinkable and rather disturbing. I hope that Stella and Bruce will find an amicable and elegant solution to the challenges they may be experiencing in their private lives,” she tactfully added.
Meanwhile, Boity has received a nomination for the FHM 100 sexiest women title for 2014, on which she was listed 72nd in 2012.
She was also named Sexiest Woman in SA by the Sowetan newspaper in both 2012 and 2013.
