Wow wow wow! Tribe One Festival have announced the next headlining act for their 3 day long festival taking place in Tshwane this September. It’s Nicki Minaj ladies and gentlemen! The news was confirmed by the official Tribe One Festival Twitter account this morning at 10am.
This will serve as incredible news for lovers of hip hop and especially for Nicki Minaj fans. When you consider that she’s been on-and-off-rumoured to be coming to SA for the last 3 years, it’s a fantastic job that the guys at Tribe One Festival have done.
Nicki Minaj is currently hailed as the ‘Queen of hip hop’ and has been an ever-present on the charts and mainstream stations for the last four years. She’s accomplished so much in so little time and she’s at the top of her game having made television show and movie appearances as well as being an American Idol (Which is really big if you consider the show was named in the ‘Top 10 Reality Shows of the Decade’)
Minaj is the latest high profile name to be added to the Tribe One Festival roster; other international headliners include Macklemore, Kid Ink and J Cole, while African talents such as Keke and Redsan have been announced to be performing at this year’s festival. South African artists such as Slikour (Did you see his interview with Kid X?), Rouge, Kwesta, Beatenberg, Karen Zoid and several more will be adding an authentic Mzansi flavour to the festival.
