This year’s SA Idols will definitely be interesting for all viewers. From what we’ve seen, most people are excited about Somizi’s addition to the judging panel. We have to say, after a blockbuster two seasons in 2013/14, Idols looks set to be even more explosive this year and Somizi will be right at the heart of that.
We’re certain that some you would love to know what the choreographer is looking for in an idol. Well, don’t worry because we can sort of answer your question. Speaking on V Entertainment recently, Somizi said: “I’m looking for that wow factor, that thing that separates them from everyone else.”
He added that he wants the full package. But be warned: Somizi is not looking for another Beyoncé or Michael Jackson. He explained: “I’m looking for a person who can really really bring it all; stage presence, charisma, showmanship. So, for me, a great voice alone is not good enough.”
He also plans on being 65 000% (yes) himself. He said on the show: “What you see is what you get, I tell it like it is. I’m an honest person, I’m a sensitive person towards other people’s feelings as well, but I never lie. That’s what I’m gonna bring, my personality, my humour and my expertise as a choreographer and in the business for almost 30 years.”
Well, there you have it. The real question is; is there a singer in South Africa who has ALL of these qualities?
