In the past two weeks we’ve seen South African rappers really putting in work with regards to their craft. K.O’s Caracara has been making quite some noise in the streets, AKA has owned the South African iTunes top ten list just a day after releasing his new single Congratulations and now Casper Nyovest has bagged a deal with Sprite. Yesterday afternoon the Doc Shebeleza rapper announced that his single Gusheshe was recently licensed for a Sprite advert in America. Shine Casper shine!!
Congratulations flooded his mentions on Twitter as fellow rappers, entertainment personalities and fans saluted his achievement. The interesting part about this whole deal is that Casper made this happen with no support from major deals, for those who were unaware (that includes us too) Casper is an actual Indy (independent) artist. Jealous down, let’s clap for this man.
Apart from his killer performance at the Big Brother Mzansi eviction show, Casper Nyovest also featured on L-tido’s Steve Kekana remix video released last week. Who do you think had the best verse out of all the rappers on the video? Check it right here!.
