Hip Hop duo Yo-Landi Vi$$er and Ninja from the group – Die Antwoord are set to act in a new film titled “Chappie” directed by Neill blomkamp whose also responsible for movies like Elysium and District 9. According to Music feed the duo even hinted on their last years single “Baby’s On Fire” on a possible film.
In the song Yolandi raps: “My bodyguard helps me get to the bar/Neill Blomkamp’s Makin ‘me a movie star.”
The budget for the movie stands at a whopping $50Million, and will be shot in Johannesburg between the months of September and December 2013.
According to reports “Chappie” is science fiction themed comedy film set to be released in 2014. Blomkaps other movie Elysium starring Matt Damon is due in Cinemas this year in August.
