As you all know, from next week we’ll be sharing our Zalebs Playlist that is sure to ROCK your world. Or Hip-Hip your world. Or Pop Your world. It doesn’t quite work with other genres.
I’m feeling very musical today, so I thought I’d take some time to share some of my musical tastes with you in the form of my favorite covers of songs that I absolutely recommend people check out and listen to from across the internet/youtube.
5. Brandon October- ‘Let’s Stay Together’
Personally, I felt Brandon should have won idols. But I’m not bitter. I’ll let this one go. I love his voice and I absolutely love this rendition of Al Green’s Let’s Stay Together. Smooth, romantic and beautiful vocals.
4. Clara C – “Rocketeer”
YouTube is just a haven of untapped talent and unsigned musicians, and Clara C is one of them. This cover is ridiculously beautiful. I want to listen to this while standing on the balcony of a posh restaurant in Paris.
3. Samkelo Ndlovu – “If I ain’t Got You”
I love her acting; but I think I love her singing even more (Crush Alert?) Mzansi’s very own Samkelo Ndlovu has a beautiful voice and nails one of my favorite songs ever.
2. Pentatonix- ‘Somebody that I used to Know’
This is too unreal. I can’t even begin to describe it. JUST WATCH
1. Sam Tsui and Kurt Schneider- “Michael Jackson Medley”
Michael Jackson would be proud. And that’s the highest compliment I can pay to this incredible rendition of some of his finest songs. Sam Tsui is my favorite YouTube Musician.
