An MTV insider has revealed a tantalising treat of what we need to know about the backstage facts of the 2014 MTV EMA. Revealing the real truth about what goes on behind the scenes to create and produce one of the biggest global music events of the year that celebrates the hottest artists from around the world.
Like South Africa’s young democracy the MTV EMA’s are also celebrating 20 years of existence and seeing that it’s the first time the MTV EMA’s have been held in Glasgow, tonights show will prove to be one exciting razzmatazz. Especially with Nicki Minaj as the host.
Although stage designs remain a closely guarded secret, MTV has revealed that the show has a “time travel” inspired theme; which will be echoed on the red carpet, in the set design and via the main show performances. We tried our best to sneak in some pictures but the security at the SSE Hydro venue where the awards will be held is quite tight!
Out of all the backstage revelations that was revealed to us one thing that caught our attention was the hair and make-up,
The 40 person MTV EMA professional makeup artist team has spent over 500 hours with internationally renowned make-up artist and MTV EMA guru, Glam Squad’s Debbie Dannell. A backstage wiggery has been installed consisting of over 500 over-the-top wigs, 300 hairpieces, 200 weaves and 100 poly heads! 22 expert hairdressers will be onsite too to assist.
That’s 600 wigs in total, ladies! if the MTV EMA backstage wiggery isn’t a match made in heaven we don’t know what is.
