Kabelo Mabalane makes Runner’s World cover

Former TKZee member Kabelo Mabalane graces the cover of the latest edition of Runner’s World magazine after recently completing his eighth consecutive Comrades Marathon.

This is the second time the musician features on the magazine’s cover, having come a very long way since he decided to turn his life around by resolving to live a more healthy life.

Now also a fitness/health expert and motivation speaker, Kabelo in 2008 became the first black man to appear on the cover of Runner’s World, and at the time earnestly spoke to the publication about overcoming his cocaine addiction and finishing his second Comrades. He in this interview credited discipline discovered through running for helping him turn his life around.

Vandrusville.com quotes the 37-year-old kwaito musician and TV personality, who said: “Being on the cover of Runners World for the second time round for me represents the awesome journey I’ve had with my relationship with running. Running has really helped me learn the value of persistence in all areas of my life!”

Kabelo currently hosts a series called ‘Play Your Part’ on SABC2. The series showcases ordinary South Africans doing extraordinary things, and airs at 9pmevery Sunday.
