I love music. I love fashion. It’s as simple as that. So when you put the two together, best believe I’m on cloud nine!
Last night Sandton came alive with the launch party for SA Fashion Week (SAFW). Hosted at The Venue in Sandton, the set up was amazing! From the green carpet and divine goodie bags to the décor and canapés – Jameson pulled out all the stops to literally make anyone who wasn’t there, feel green with envy.
With Dino Bravo on the decks, the party kicked off in full swing with an electric vibe in the air. From avant-garde to retro cool, there was an eclectic mix of style circulating the room. Here are some of my fashion favourites:
Zizo Bede and Lerato Kganyago looked striking in their black and white gowns. Kudos to Lerato for managing to keep the train on her dress so pristine considering that it was white and could so easily be damaged!
I have to say that these guys impressed me! Not afraid to experiment with colours, Mr South Africa contestants Dale Horne and Jacques Fagan looked dapper in their outfits. Dale, who will be walking a few shows at Fashion Week just wrapped up shooting on a new music video for an artist from L.A. Nice one Dale!
It’s always lovely bumping into Jen Su. Dressed in a cream and gold number by a Durban based designer, Jen will be attending all the SA Fashion Week shows. Former Durban model Tanya Strauss also turned heads in her sexy Avant number.
Guest mingled, designers networked and the zalebs worked the cameras. The Twerkers put on a refreshing dance piece before DJ Black Coffee hit the decks. I also spotted Culoe de Song, who is part of DJ Black Coffee’s label Soulistic Music at the event.
Not wanting to pull a late night and needing my beauty rest for the main show tonight (11.04.13) I dashed out early while the guests partied the night away.
If the opening party was anything to go by then hold onto your stilettos ladies as tonight will be on another level. A special mention to the dashing Simphiwe Majola and his team at Capacity Relations for putting together such a stunning event.
Expect more drama, glitz, glam and of course hot models over the next few days. Let the SA Fashion Week experience begin!
