US Hip Hop queen, Nicki Minaj, has been instructed by African National Congress Youth League officials to pay back the deposit she received for her performance in the, now cancelled, TribeOne Festival. The event, which was supposed to take place last month was cancelled, allegedly due to poor planning on the behalf of the City of Tshwane.
The rapper, who was paid a 10 Million Rand deposit (I repeat, “deposit”) was instructed to hand the money over to a South African charity of her choice since the festival had been cancelled. Come on Nicki, the ball is in your court now. As for the organizers of the event, pull yourselves together, you’re making us look bad!
I have to say, I don’t think the chances of this happening are that good mostly because when you sign such contracts there is a clause that clearly specifies that these financial amounts are NON-REFUNDABLE.
The Festival line-up included also included Mackelmore and Ryan Lewis, as well as J Cole. Wonder if they were paid a deposit?
