No bail for ‘sick’ Jub Jub

Jub Jub wanted to be granted bail, pending his March appeal of his murder conviction and sentencing filed in the High Court in Johannesburg.

According to City Press, the pair was sentenced to 25 years in jail for mowing down four schoolchildren and injuring two while racing each other in their Mini Coopers in Soweto in 2010.

Jub Jub’s lawyer Rudi Krause, argued that his client who has visibly gained weight, had suffered from TB and was not receiving treatment in prison.

But Krause’s statement was torn apart by correctional services officials who testified that the musician was healthy.

Magistrate Brian Nomavhiti dismissed the bail application, saying the two might abscond because the court had already imposed a sentence on them.
