Ladies, we’ve seen numerous make-up trends in 2015, the most notorious being the shading of eyebrows to make them look fuller.
Although we thank the gods of make-up for putting an end to the dreadful thinning or drawing of thin eyebrows, we’ve seen some disastrous outcomes when it comes to the eyebrows on fleek trend.
Even celebrity make-up artist, Nthato Mashishi, has voiced his disapproval of this new look, which is now being over done by some people.
“I think because we’ve gravitated so much towards the world of social media, people tend to think that this trend suits them when it unfortunately doesn’t. It also just doesn’t look real. We tend to move away from reality and we need to go back to the basics,” he said.
“For someone who really wants to become a make-up artist, I’d suggest that they go for proper training, like me, I went for proper training at Black Like Me Cosmetics. I’ve got a diploma in make-up artistry because there’s technologies that go into this craft, there’s a certain way in which you apply make-up that needs to be learned.
“I also do research about the make-up brands I use and I’m not saying I know it all, but through research I gain more knowledge about make-up as a craft.
“Make-up is also about learning how to be creative in many ways and also coming up with your own new style. Don’t go with the trends because not all trends look good, just make sure you learn the basics and do the write thing.”
