Uhm…This is awkward. So, there are rumours that Bonang Matheba will not be hosting her mid-morning show for much longer.
The station will be making its annual line-up changes in April and, if you believe the word on the street, Pearl Thusi will take over Bonang’s show.
I’m not too convinced about this; in fact, it seems like this is just a rumour. Pearl cleared the air on Twitter recently after a fan asked her to admit or deny these claims.
The fan tweeted: “I hope the rumours about @PearlThusi getting the midday-weekday slot on metro are true.”
Pearl replied: “I don’t replace people hun.” Pearl currently co-hosts Metro FM’s weekend breakfast show with Phat Joe.
The claims come just days after it was reported that Queen B might be in trouble with the station. Sunday Sun reported that B, who hosts the Front Row, has been warned about her “manly” voice (LOL WTF?!)
A source told the paper: “She’s been in trouble with the bosses many times about her voice.”
That’s ridiculous though. Isn’t Bonang’s voice what got her the radio gig in the first place? Something just doesn’t add up.
Anyway, we’ll wait for Metro FM to announce the changes to the line-up
