Southern Gypsey Queen Drummer dies at 29

This morning, South Africa woke up to the devastating news of the untimely death of Paul Wilson who was the drummer of local band Southern Gypsey Queen. Wilson died yesterday afternoon at Molteno Hospital; he was only 29-years-old.

According to Rolling Stone Magazine Wilson had been suffering from meningitis but was expected to recover.  After his diagnosis Southern Gypsey Queen released a statement explaining Wilson’s condition and their reason for cancelling performances.

“We regret to inform you that Paul Wilson, drummer for Southern Gypsey Queen has fallen ill and sadly there is no way that SGQ will be able to perform at Kaktus op die Vlaktes this Saturday, we are confident that he will be back on his feet and Rock n Rolling in no time.”

ZAlebs would also like to extend our condolences to the Wilsons family as well as his band members.
