What’s Hot: Taxi Violence still going strong after 10 years

The band was formed in 2004, when friends Rian Zietsman, Loedi van Renen and Louis Nel invited George van der Spuy to play a session. The band played their very first show in March 2005.

The band have subsequently been nominated for three South African Music Awards, five MK Awards and have had the single, “Untie Yourself” reach the top five on the 5FM Top 40.

The group’s frontman George van der Spuy, spoke to Channel24 about what to expect from the new album.
He revealed that he thinks it is the bands best work yet.

“People can expect 12 brand spanking new songs from “Tenfold”. We contemplated doing a best of album but then we thought that would be lame, only big record labels do that and it wouldn’t make it special enough for our fans.

‘”Tenfold’ is the sound, the energy and intensity of all our albums over 10 years put together. It’s like we’ve now finally found the right recipe and sound that defines Taxi Violence. This is our best work to date,” he explained.

“Tenfold” is available now.
