During an interview with The Heat Show on CliffCentral the day after she was honoured with the award, Unathi said being recognised makes all the hard work worth it.
The Juice quotes her as saying: “I am very honoured to have received the award. It’s a great validation of my work. It means people are watching.”
As a singer, radio presenter, and ‘Idols’ judge, Unathi has a tight schedule, which she says she manages by being disciplined and sticking to a schedule. She also said she makes a point of never putting work to spending time with her children.
Unathi thanked all her fans for their loyalty, saying: “It’s good to know that my work is not going in vain.”
And also praised her husband Thomas Msengana for being a “supportive and secure man”.
Unathi married fellow DJ Thomas, who is better known as Bad Boy T, in 2009.
