Unathi landed in hot water following comments she made in August during a discussion about racism at Stellenbosch University.
But that wasn’t the straw that broke the camel’s back. The SABC told Unathi to take several seats (at home) over a private conversation she had when a Twitter user retweeted an offensive tweet regarding the controversy.
She called the girl a “psycho b*tch” and ended her rant with, “F*ck you twice over”. Ouch! Not even once, twice!
Unathi is not sitting at home licking her wounds after the backlash, but instead has been going about her business as usual.
Aside from being a judge on Idols SA, what else has she been up to?
Motivating the future leaders of SA
Unathi spent a day with grade 3s at Montrose Primary in Parkmore. “We LOVE the kids! If you know anything about me you know how I love the soul of a child! I spent the morning with these blessed souls and my year has been made!” she said on her Instagram account.
Doing her bit for charity
Unathi and fellow Idols judge Somizi attended the Estée Lauder breast cancer charity dinner. Was this dinner held in Dubai? Why is Somizi dressed like a sheikh?
Hitting the gym hard
Unathi is far from being depressed and is keeping up with her daily routine, including hitting the gym. “I love my Monday sessions. It’s just a great start to the week. I see my floppy arms are disappearing and I’m getting my definition all round! Happy happy days!”
Getting her glam on
Who needs a radio show (for now) when you can get dolled up every week for Idols SA? Here’s a behind-the-scenes shot of Unathi getting ready for the show.
