Our field reporter, Chi Chi Balintulo, was at this weekend's Homecoming Picnic in Centurion. Let's find out what went down

The 6th annual Homecoming Picnic took place in Centurion this past weekend. It was a remarkable success, but by now, that is expected of the event. Even after a venue change (Previously at the Centurion Rugby Field, this year's event was moved to Zwartskops Resort) patrons still arrived at the new venue to absorb the warm sun, the great camaraderie and some fantastic entertainment. Most cool kids from around Gautrain maid the pilgrimage to Centurion, as well as a few of Mzansi entertainment's big wigs.

People arrived at the venue in their masses, ready to take on the day. They were heavily armed with their camp chairs, cooler boxes, bucket hats and shades. It clearly was about to be a proper turn up. As expected, the queue getting into the venue was strenuously long and finding parking was a nightmare. However, these frustrations did little to dampen the mood and once we were in the venue itself, the festivities were joyous.

What's a good festival without performers, right? The line-up of performers included heavyweights such as DJ Warras, Kid X, Maggz, Kwesta, Thebe, Black Motion, PH, Twins on Decks and many more. Citizens were on their worst behaviour and "turnt up" till the early hours of Sunday morning. Great was fun by had by all who attended the event and we already can't wait for next year's Homecoming Picnic
