Local is lekker!

Khanyi Mbau, Mmabatho Montsho, and Renate Stuurman’s new movie Happiness is a Four-Letter Word proved to be a major success at cinemas during its opening weekend.

The romantic drama, directed by Thabang Moleya, took in a cool R2,371,782 at cinemas across South Africa from Friday to Sunday.

The film, which tells the story of three close friends trying to find the “happiness they so desperately desire in their lives”, was the best performing new release of the weekend – beating international movies like 13 Hours and Trumbo.

Happiness is a Four-Letter Word finished third in the top 10, behind Vir Altyd and Deadpool.

Congratulations, ladies!
