Wow, Castle Lite! It’s been officially announced this morning that American rapper and Amber Rose’s baby daddy, Wiz Khalifa, will be joining Timbaland, Nas, Mi Casa, Spoek Mathambo, Reason and other top local acts at this year’s Extra Cold Music concert. The announcement comes days after we ourselves compiled a list of things to expect at this show; there was no way we could have seen this one coming!
Wiz Khalifa rose to superstardom with his smash hit, Black and Yellow towards the end of 2010 and since then he’s seen his star rise to greater and greater heights. It helps that he’s super likeable as well; Hip hop fans have often been enamoured by Khalifa’s friendly charm, and his endearing treatment of baby mama and girlfriend, Amber Rose. This affection towards Wiz has also made its way to South Africa as the rapper has found himself in the 5fm top 40 several times.
The Castle Lite Extra Cold Music event was already looking exciting, but with the inclusion of Wiz, it’s hard to argue that Extra Cold Music will probably be the hottest hip hop event (In South Africa) of 2014. We have it on very good authority that Wiz puts on a great show; combine this with Timbaland’s production, Nas and his Illmatic orchestra, Timbo’s collaboration with an SA artist, as well as our own live acts and you start to understand why we think this event will be difficult to top in terms of quality experiences.
Castle Lite have promised us experiences, memorable nights and a great beverage we can love as much as we love hip hop and good music in general. They are most certainly delivering on all of the above.
