DJ Zinhle has explained her unconditional love for her daughter Kairo and how a particular song ignites her love for her baby.
The DJ was a guest on the ‘Drive-Through With‘, a YouTube web series owned by Brands & Thabs. She allowed the them into her personal life as she spoke candidly about her career, her unconditional love for her daughter and her friendships with Queen Sono’s Pearl Thusi, newly-wed Lerato Kganyago and rapper Moozlie.
Zinhle mentioned a song she did with Bonji called Against The Grain saying it had a deeper meaning for her love for her daughter Kairo.
Although the song speaks about romance between a man and a woman, and how the person would go through extreme measures to pursue the other for a relationship.
Zinhle explained that the song reminded her of the unconditional love she has for her little girl.
“I relate more to Against The Grain because it is a deep and insane song. Whenever I hear the song, I don’t think of a romantic kind of love … I normally just think of Kairo. Like, that type of unconditional love, that pure love, for me I like the song because it talks more about Kairo,” she gushed.
The episode was shot pre-lockdown because the DJ was on her way to a gig. DJ Zinhle can also be heard referring to her ex-boyfriend, AKA, as her boyfriend.
