True love still exists.

Inspired by these celebrity love stories
Don’t ever let anyone try to convince you that love is dead. Yes, we’ve all been hurt at some point or another, but that doesn’t mean we should give up on finding true love. In the last couple of weeks, our timelines have been filled with quite a number of beautiful couples, who’ve celebrated some amazing relationship milestones.

My personal favourite story has to be Connie and Shona Ferguson’s. The South African power couple got married just after two months of being together, and this year, they celebrated 17 years of marriage. If that’s not inspiring, I don’t know what is!

I’m sure that they’ve had their fair share of ups and downs (just like any couple out there), but it’s clear that they choose each other every single day.

I also admire Basetsana and Romeo Kumalo’s relationship. Not only are these two flourishing as individuals, but they’re also a force when they’re together. This week, Bassie dedicated the sweetest message to her husband of 18 years.

“I have never known this kind of love. Thank you for choosing me. I would choose you over many lifetimes. I love doing this thing called life with you,” read her message, in part.

Imagine being married for almost two decades and still being crazy about your person? Now that’s definitely a dream. They met so many years ago, and are still going stronger than ever, despite the many challenges that they’ve faced in their lives.

There are many more beautiful love stories in the country, not just in ZAlebville. However, today I chose to put the spotlight on these two. I think when it comes to love, it’s not really about the money, fame or power – it just boils down to finding a person you can do life with, a person who’s going to stick by your side through the good times and the bad times. Never ever let people fool you into believing that love is not real, or that you’re not deserving of it. The truth is: we’re all worthy of love – there’s nothing you can ever say or do to be less deserving or unworthy of it.

When you find the right person, make sure that you treat them right.
